Terms of use
This is the same text people accept in the StandBeat app.
These terms apply to your use of the StandBeat app and web panel. The company you work with gave you access to StandBeat under its own agreement with StandBeat (operated by David Menéndez, Miami, Florida). By tapping "Accept" in the app you agree to these terms.
Who can use StandBeat
You must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 18, the company you work with is responsible for any permission your parent or guardian must give.
Your account
- Your account is personal. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your account.
- If you received a temporary password, you must change it the first time you sign in. Choose a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
- Tell the company you work with, or write to us, right away if you think someone else used your account.
Using the app honestly
- Record your hours, reports, photos and product counts truthfully.
- Do not fake your location or clock in for someone else. The app detects simulated locations and reports them to the company you work with.
- Use the app only for work for the company that invited you, and follow that company's instructions and documents.
- Do not try to access other people's data, bypass security, or copy or reverse engineer the app.
Photos and signatures
- Take photos only of what your event report asks for. Avoid close-ups of customers' faces unless the company you work with has told you it has their permission.
- Ask the store manager to sign only after reviewing the report.
Hours and pay
StandBeat is a tool to help record and review hours. It does not pay you and is not your employer. The company you work with is responsible for your pay, for your official time records, and for deciding whether you work as an employee or as a contractor. If you think your hours are wrong, use "Report a problem" in the app or talk to your supervisor. The company decides on corrections.
Content in the app
- You keep any rights you have in what you upload, and you allow StandBeat and the company you work with to store and use it to run the app and produce reports.
- Report photos are for internal records and reports to the company's clients, not for advertising.
Availability
We work to keep StandBeat available and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable or have errors. The app saves clock-ins and reports on your phone when there is no signal and sends them when the connection returns. StandBeat is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows.
Ending access
The company you work with can deactivate your account at any time, for example when you stop working with it. We can suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, StandBeat is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived.
Changes
If we change these terms in an important way, the app will ask you to accept the new version.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by Florida law. Questions: hello@davidmenendez.dev.
