Privacy policy
This is the same text people accept in the StandBeat app.
StandBeat is a work app that companies use to organize events, record work hours and create event reports. It is operated by David Menéndez ("StandBeat", "we"), Miami, Florida. This policy explains what data the StandBeat app, web panel and website (standbeat.com) handle, and why.
Who is responsible for your data
The company you work with (the company that invited you to StandBeat) decides what work information is collected about you and how it uses it. For questions about your hours, pay, schedule or job, contact that company.
StandBeat stores and processes that information on the company's behalf, only to provide the app. We are directly responsible only for the data needed to run and protect the app itself (for example, security logs) and for our website.
The company you work with may also publish its own documents in the app, such as its own privacy notice or work rules. Those documents are the company's, not StandBeat's.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, role (for example, worker or supervisor) and hourly rate, entered by the company or by you.
- Your clock-in and clock-out times, time requests, and the changes or approvals made to them.
- Your phone's location only at the moment you clock in and the moment you clock out. See the Location notice. We do not track your location at any other time.
- Event reports you complete: answers, product counts, photos, comments and the store manager's signature.
- Records of which policies and documents you accepted, and when.
- Basic device information (type of phone, app version) and a notification token so the app can send you notifications.
- Error reports when the app fails. We remove personal information such as emails and locations before they are sent.
- Our website keeps standard server logs (IP address and browser type) for security. It uses no cookies, analytics or advertising.
We do not collect biometric data, health information, bank details or government ID numbers.
Why we use it
- To let the company you work with schedule events, assign you, record and review your hours, receive event reports and pay you correctly.
- To confirm you are at the event location when you clock in and out.
- To send you notifications and account emails (invitations and password resets).
- To keep the app secure, prevent fraud such as fake locations, and fix problems.
- To understand how the app is used, only as anonymous totals (for example, number of events per month).
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles about you.
Who can see it
- People in the company you work with, according to their role: admins and supervisors can see your hours, locations at clock-in and clock-out, rates and reports. Other workers do not see your personal information, except your name on events you share.
- The company's clients may receive event report PDFs, which can include photos and the names of the team that worked the event.
- Service providers that host and deliver the app for us, listed at standbeat.com/subprocessors. They can only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while the company you work with uses StandBeat. The company decides how long to keep its records and may need to keep some of them, such as hours worked, for the periods required by law. When the company stops using StandBeat, we delete its data within the time agreed in our contract with it (no more than about 90 days, including backups).
Your choices and rights
- You can see your hours, events and reports in the app.
- You can ask the company you work with for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Some records, such as hours worked, may have to be kept by law.
- You can ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@davidmenendez.dev. We will forward the request to the company you work with and complete it with them.
- You can turn off notifications in your phone's settings.
- You can refuse location access. You will then not be able to clock in from the app, and your supervisor can record your hours instead.
If you write to us about data the company controls, we will forward your request to the company.
Security
We protect your data with access controls by company and role, encryption, server-side checks and an audit log of important changes. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, the company you work with and we will notify you as the law requires.
Accepting this policy
The app asks you to accept this policy and the Terms of use before you start. We record the version you accepted and the date and time set by our server. When we make an important change, the app will ask you to accept the new version.
Age
StandBeat is a work app. It is not intended for anyone under 14, the minimum working age in Florida. If you are under 18, the company you work with is responsible for any permission your parent or guardian must give.
